Engineered hardwood can be manufactured in two ways. The top surface wear layer can be sliced or sawn from the log, giving an engineered floor that has a more authentic wood look and graining. Engineered hardwood floors can also be rotary cut, with the hardwood wear layer peeled off the log using lathes. This way of making engineered hardwood floors can show much wilder graining.

Economical and green

Engineered wood helps conserve wood, with as much as four times the amount of engineered hardwood coming from wood as solid wood flooring. It’s also a good material to use in homes that have a higher humidity level, as it is more stable under different climatic conditions. This durability makes them ideal for summer homes and shopping centres. As well as customers enjoying the durability and look of an engineered floor, it is also ideal for under floor heating.
